NCRI – Iraqi state television broadcasted a slanderous and false report on Sunday saying that: “A cell working for Khalq Organization [a reference to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK)], that last October intended to kidnap Abbas Al-Ameri, director of the office of Sheikh Humam Hamoodi, had been arrested.”
Over the past four years the Iraqi state TV has been broadcasting many false reports against the PMOI and residents of Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty. Such falsifications and lies has been used by the Iraqi state TV to justify taking hostage and murdering of camps residents by Iraqi forces. For such purpose, the Iraqi TV frequently provides a stage for Iranian regime’s intelligence agents and elements of terrorist Qods Force. Iraqi and international lawyers and jurists have protested such conduct of the Iraqi state television on dozens of occasions.
The latest falsification in specific is an attempt by the Iraqi Government to evade the consequences of the death of Behrooz Rahimian, a resident of Camp Liberty. Mr Rahimian was slain due to the obstructions on being hospitalized by agents of Iraqi Prime Minister Office.
This is a well-known method used by the Government of Iraq to torture patients death at Camp Liberty and Camp Ashraf. The Iranian Resistance has revealed several such cases.
In addition, by resorting to these preposterous and frivolous lies, Government of Nouri al-Maliki intends to confront the consequences of the latest report by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detentions that for the second time described the unlawful conditions at Camp Liberty as a prison like conditions.
The Iranian Resistance has previously urged the United Nations to launch an impartial investigation into the circumstances leading to dead of Behrooz Rahimian but Martin Kobler, the UN official in Iraq, who is worried about the result of such investigation, has overlooked conducting such an investigation in favor of the Government of Iraq.
In light of the falsification and slander by the Iraqi State television on Sunday, the Iranian Resistance calls for an impartial investigation by the United Nations’ International Humanitarian Fact-Finding Commission and disclosure of its findings.
