Call for immediate action to swiftly revoke an anti-human medical blockade whose victims now number 24
On Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015, in Camp Liberty, PMOI member Ali Salari lost his life to cancer and lack of free access to medical treatment. He is the 24th resident who was tormented to death by the anti-human medical blockade imposed on Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty.
Mr. Ali Salari, 47, joined PMOI ranks in 1988 and for the past 27 years carried out a ceaseless struggle against the religious fascism ruling Iran.
Since a month ago, the representative of Camp Liberty had requested his immediate transfer out of Iraq for treatment. As the patient’s health deteriorated, Camp Liberty’s legal advisor once again wrote to UN officials on February 3: “I would like to draw your attention to Mr. Ali Salari’s case who is suffering from Multiple Myeloma. We are requiring expediting his transfer.”
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, called the 24th martyr of the anti-human siege in Camp Liberty a shining symbol of the resistance of people of southern Iran against the mullahs’ regime and offered her condolences to the great Salari family in Bandar Abbas.
She once again underscored the repeated and written responsibilities and commitments of the United States and the United Nations regarding the security and wellbeing of Camp Liberty residents and called for immediate action to lift this anti-human siege.
