In 50 degrees Celsius heat of Ramadhan, on the orders of Faleh Fayyad, Iraqi forces prevented entry of food, fuel and septic trucks to Camp Liberty
NCRI – For the third consecutive day, the Iraqi national security advisor Faleh Fayyad, in charge of the committee to suppress the Iranian opposition in Ashraf and Liberty, has prevented entry of food, fuel and septic trucks to Camp Liberty at behest of the Iranian regime.
The criminal and anti-human measure in the 50 degrees Celsius heat in the fasting month of Ramadhan, depriving Liberty from food and fuel takes place while the government of Iraq has announced Thursday a holiday due to intense heat.
Thousands of members of the main Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), including nearly 1,000 women, are currently living in Camp Liberty, which is located next to Baghdad International Airport.
As in previous days, the Iraqi forces stationed at gate 4 of Baghdad Airport stressed today that the drivers have permit to go to the airport and the camp, but Faleh Fayyad has issued special instructions that no vehicles should be allowed to enter Camp Liberty.
Depriving the camp from food, fuel and medicine for the third consecutive day has created a serious crisis in the Camp and brought tremendous pressure on the residents. The blockade of fuel has created serious problems for the generators that supply electricity for the camp’s needs.
On the other hand, Camp residents today held several protest gatherings and held up placards demanding the UNAMI and the UNHCR to intervene so as to end the criminal siege.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations and the United Sates to take immediate action to put an end to the unlawful blockade of Camp Liberty, as they have repeatedly undertaken to protect the safety and security of Camp Liberty residents.
