NCRI – The Archbishop of Wales has written to United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron urging the British Government to urgently condemn the October 29 terrorist rocket attack on members of the main Iranian opposition group PMOI (MEK) in Camp Liberty, Iraq, which claimed the lives of 23 residents.
“On 29th October, Camp Liberty (Baghdad) suffered the most severe and heavy missile barrage. According to initial reports, many of the residential trailers have been destroyed and there is extensive damage and fires within the camp,” Archbishop Dr. Barry Morgan wrote on October 30.
“As you are aware, the residents of this camp have been under siege for several years and have suffered terribly with the blockade of food, fuel and medicine supplies.”
“I appeal to the British Government, as a matter of urgency, to strongly condemn this latest attack and to bring it to the attention of the UN Security Council in order for it to take steps to bring the perpetrators to task and to call on the UN and the US Government to double their efforts to protect these people from future attacks. In today’s society, surely these Governments cannot just stand by and continue to be observers of these atrocities,” he added.
His letter was also sent to the attention of UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.
